Maternity photography takes you back. Long after the aches subside, you'll have beautiful images to help you remember what an amazing job you did carrying your little one into being.
Sessions take place outdoors at your choice of location - whether that be a beach at sunset, a relaxed park setting, or in the forest amongst the trees and ferns.
You will have the option of getting glammed up in one of our maternity gowns (see here for the many options), or wearing something of your own and focusing on your beautiful self.
The whole family is welcome to join in - human and animals alike!

- Sessions up to an hour and a half
- Location of your choice in Auckland (travel outside Auckland can be arranged)
- For you and your bump alone or the whole family
- Stylised to suit you - access to our large range of gorgeous maternity gowns if you wish to use them
- Makeup and hair can be added in addition
$150 session fee + collections from $390

Auckland Maternity Photographer FAQs
When should I book?
The best time to book a session with our Auckland maternity photographer is in your second trimester, so we can ensure you a space before your baby arrives. We will usually set aside a couple of dates to ensure weather won't be an issue. If you are already in your final weeks of pregnancy, we would still love to hear from you as we will definitely still try to fit you in where we can.
How far into my pregnancy do we do the maternity photos?
The best time to take your pregnancy photos is when you are between 32-36 weeks. This allows your bump to be lovely and round, keeps you as comfortable as possible, and allows us a few weeks to make sure we don't miss out (as we know, babies can come early!)
What should I wear?
We want you to feel as comfortable (and beautiful!) as possible, and that's why we leave the choice up to you. Some people like to keep it casual - a nice fitted top that shows off your bump, or a flowy dress, but others like to dress up. We have a range of beautiful maternity gowns available for your use if you choose - many of the photos on this page show gowns that belong to the studio. How long do sessions take?
Maternity photography usually takes somewhere between an hour or two, depending on location. For example, a maternity session in Cornwall Park will typically be shorter than one out at Bethells beach, as there's less time taken walking between locations. There's no rush with these sessions - we know that by this stage in your pregnancy, even walking can be a bit of a task!
What can I expect during the session?
With over eight years of maternity photography experience, here at Siobhan Kelly Photography we know what we doing and have a tried and tested workflow. Once we have decided on our location, we will meet there on the day and visit a few different 'backdrops' - for example, if we are out at the beach, this may include some photos taken in the dunes, near the water, and against a cliff face. We will alternate between photos of mama-to-be alone and with family members.
Don't worry at all if you're feeling nervous - we have plenty of tricks to entertain kids, tame toddlers, and to make you (naturally) smile! Plus, we know how to pose you to make sure you look your best.
When you book in with us, we will also send you a session guide, so you know exactly what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect.
I saw this photo with a prop I love...
If you've seen a prop in a photo you love, feel free to ask ahead of time and we can make sure to incorporate it in your maternity photography session if it belongs to the studio. Having said that, if you have anything special you'd like to include, feel free to bring it along too.

Can I book in my newborn photography session too?
Definitely! We would love to meet your baby when he or she arrives, and the earlier you book, the better. Plus, by booking both sessions together, we waive the newborn session fee - you save $150.
